Team agreements, like communication charters and boundaries agreements, help remote and hybrid teams clarify their expectations for work and communication.
But a team agreement is not something you can just "set and forget"āit only works if team members actually follow it. To ensure that your team effectively integrates such an agreement into daily workflows requires ongoing commitment and reinforcement.
Each team member should dedicate time to making sure they do the following:
Understand the expectations described in team agreements.
Follow expectations consistently.
Refer to agreements when needed.
Provide constructive feedback to others when expectations are not being followed.

Here are some ways to help your distributed team adopt the practices you've aligned on in your team agreements:
Pin any team agreements to communication channels so they're easily accessible.
Include links to agreements in meeting and project documentation.
Set a reminder or task to review team agreements as individuals and as a team.
Send a monthly survey to check in on team use of agreements.
Use a visual cue (like an emoji) or template message to give quick feedback in async channels.
